2019 MACKAY TRACK & FIELD CARNIVAL

NOMINATIONS AND DRAFT TIMETABLE NOW AVAILABLE

WHEN COMPLETING THE ONLINE ENTRY, ALL PERSONAL INFORMATION TO BE ENTERED IS FOR THE ATHLETE.  WHEN SELECTING THE AGE GROUP, IT IS BASED ON THE AGE OF THE ATHLETE AS AT 31st DECEMBER 2019.

 

We suggest using a PC with Google Chrome, Firefox or Safari to complete the online nomination. Have your credit card or paypal details ready. The online system may time out after 20mins so ensure your registration is completed before then, especially for multiple nominations from the same family. After payment, you will receive an email with the nomination information. Please check this for accuracy.

HOW TO ENTER   

Entries are taken online and CLOSE at 12pm Saturday 27 April.   Athletes aged 14 and over may compete in their own age group and the open category. There are no restrictions on the number of events a competitor may enter in his/her own age group. Athletics with a Disability (Para-Athlete) (please advise PARA classification) who are 10 years and older enter in own age division. MSD Charts will be used at these championships to determine the placings of all para athletes.

Entries are open to all ANQ/QA/AA/QMA/IAAF/QLA registered athletes from 4 years to Masters. Day registrations are also available for this event.

Members of Road Running Clubs are limited to in-stadia track events of 800m or greater and are not eligible to enter in any field events unless they are also a member of a track & field club.

Late nominations after online close date will not be accepted.

Athlete age is at 31st Decemeber 2019.  Masters age category is based on the age as on the first day of competition.

ENTRY FEES

All Athletes - Admin/Facility Fee $10.00 per athlete
Individual Events  
Athletes aged 4 to 7 years* $15.00 (up to 8 events, participation medalion)
Athletes aged 8 to Open/Masters #    $7.00 per event (1st, 2nd, 3rd place medalions)
Combined Events  
Throw Pentathlon # $20.00
Heptathlon  Due to limited officials and event resources the Heptahlon event has been removed from the program
Decathlon  Due to limited officials and event resources the Decathlon event has been removed from the program
Non Member Day Registration Fee $20.00 per athlete not a current member of an athletics club.
 
* Age groups 4 to 7 receive a participation medallion and a result certificate.  
# 1st, 2nd and 3rd place medallions awarded in each event age group.
Spectator Fee The facility operators may charge a $2 spectator fee each day ( Athlete and Officials excluded from fee).

 

  

REFUNDS

Refunds will not be issued for online entries under any circumstances unless the meet is cancelled and not rescheduled.   

UNIFORMS

Athletes will compete for their registered club and wear correct uniform and registration bib numbers. Club Athletes MUST wear their current 2019 competition bib numbers. Athletes will not be allowed to compete unless bib numbers are worn. Replacement numbers issued on the day will incur a fee of $5.

Non Member athletes are to wear clothing that will not impede judges views and tops must be a plain colour.

MASTERS ATHLETES

Athletes who are 30 years and older may compete either in the Open events or Masters Events. Master athletes will compete in age groupings, which go up in 5. I.e. 30-34, 35-39. For nomination purposes only, there are only 2 age groups. Masters age groups will be determined as at 4 May, 2019

PARA ATHLETES

Athletics with a Disability (Para-Athlete), after nomination has been done, please email athlete name and events with PARA classification details to mail@mackayathletics.com.au.

 

 IMPORTANT NOTES and COMPETITION RULES – READ CAREFULLY

All athletes MUST familiarise themselves with the following important information and event rules before submitting their entry. A full list of North Queensland competition rules are available on the Athletics North Queensland website.

  

  1. Entries are open to all ANQ/QA/AA/QMA/IAAF/QLA registered athletes from 4 years to Masters. Day registrations are available for this event.
  2. Nomination is by way of online registration through the Mackay Athletics or ANQ website www.athleticsnorthqld.org.au and payment by Mastercard or Visa at the time of registration. Nominations close Saturday 27 April  midnight. Late nominations will not be accepted. Nomination fees are non-refundable.

  7. ENTRIES CANNOT BE CHANGED ON DAY.  NO LATE NOMINATIONS ACCEPTED.
  8. Age is ACTUAL AGE IN YEARS as at 31st December 2019 Masters Athletes will be age on the 1st day of competition.
  9. The 2019 Mackay Track & Field Carnival will be conducted according to Athletics North Queensland age limitations and Technical Specifications. The IAAF Rules will be adhered to for all events together with any modifications approved by Athletics Australia or Athletics North Queensland.
  10. Events will commence at 8am – Saturday 4 May and will finish approximately 3.00pm Sunday 5 May, 2019.
  11. A Program Timetable will be available on the Mackay Athletics / ANQ Website from Thursday 2 May.
  12. All athletes are to compete in their representing clubs approved uniform and registered bib numbers.
  13. Shoes must be worn for all throwing events and highly recommended for all other track events.
  14. Spike shoes may be worn in age groups 10yrs and above. 10-11yr are only permitted to wear spikes in laned events only, jumps and javelin. Ages 12 and up, laned and unlaned events, jumps and javelin. Spikes to be 7mm maximum of pyramid or christmas tree shape. Only exceptions are 9mm for javelin and high jump.  Sharp spike types will not be allowed.
  15. Pole Vaulters MUST supply their own Pole and be competent at the event.
